🐪 It’s Hump Day!
It’s Hump Day, and our Trojans did a great job getting over the hump! We have officially completed 22 days of school, but who’s counting? 😂 And I continue to be incredibly proud of the start we have had at FVMS. Twenty-two days of learning. Twenty-two days of building relationships. Twenty-two days of establishing expectations. Twenty-two days of building our Year of Momentum, one domino at a time.
Thank you, parents, for continuing to partner with us. Let’s finish this short week strong!
😴 Do NOT Wake My Babies Up Monday!
That’s right, parents, Let. Them. Sleep! 😂 There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend, get some rest, and spend some time together. We will welcome our Trojans back bright and early on Tuesday, September 8. And remember, school begins at 7:45 AM, so bright and early means bright AND early! 😊

🤝 Student-Parent Compacts Came Home Monday
Parents, your student should have brought home our Title I Student-Parent Compact on Monday. The compact is an important part of our Title I program. It serves as an agreement between the school, parents, and students about how we will work together to help students succeed academically. The compact outlines the responsibilities each of us has in that partnership. The school commits to providing high-quality instruction and support, parents identify ways they can support learning at home, and students agree to take responsibility for their learning and school success.
Please take a few minutes to read the compact with your student. Parents should complete and sign the parent portion, and students should complete and sign the student portion. Then, please have your student return the completed compact to school. This isn't just another piece of paper. It represents something we talk about all the time at FVMS: One Team. One Dream. Growing Together. It takes the school, the student, AND the family working together to create the outcomes we want for our Trojans.
💤 Pajama Day Is FRIDAY!
Friday we're taking a day off from the drip! 😎
Students may purchase a Pajama Day Pass for $3 and wear their pajamas to school on Friday.
Please remember that regular school dress-code expectations still apply. The length of pajama pants and/or shorts and the coverage provided by shirts or tops must meet our normal dress-code standards.
So come comfy, come cozy, but come appropriate! 😂 And yes, students who choose not to participate should report to school in their regular school attire.
🌱 FFA Chapter Meeting — DATE CHANGE!
Our FVMS FFA Chapter will hold its first chapter meeting this Friday from 3:00–5:00 PM. Please note the date change: The meeting is FRIDAY, not Thursday. We don't want any of our students who are excited about FFA to miss their first opportunity to get involved because they have the wrong date.

💡 Parent Tip of the Week: Let Them Do the Talking
As our students get older, one of the best things we can do is help them learn to advocate for themselves. This week, if your child comes home with a concern about a class, assignment, grade, or situation at school, resist the urge to immediately fix it for them.
Instead, ask:
“Have you talked to your teacher about it?”
Help them think through what they need to say, who they need to speak with, and what questions they need to ask. Of course, there will always be situations when a parent needs to step in, and we absolutely want you to contact us when necessary. But middle school is also the perfect time for students to practice respectfully asking questions, seeking clarification, and speaking up when they need help. We aren't asking them to figure everything out alone. We're teaching them how to find their voice. That is a skill they will carry long after they leave FVMS.

Twenty-two days down. Almost one full month of school. And while nobody's counting 😂, every one of those days matters.
Every lesson taught.
Every assignment completed.
Every expectation reinforced.
Every good decision made.
Every relationship built.
Every student encouraged.
Those are the little things that create big momentum.
Parents, thank you for continuing to trust us, support us, communicate with us, and, most importantly, share your children with us each day.
Enjoy your long Labor Day weekend. Do NOT wake my babies up Monday! 😂 But Tuesday morning? Get them up, get them moving, and send them back to us ready to learn!
