Good evening Trojan Families,
Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful first couple of days of school. As we begin our Year of Momentum, I want to say how proud I am of our students, staff, and families. We have had an absolutely PERFECT first two days of school! Our students have done an outstanding job learning routines, meeting expectations, and getting back into the rhythm of learning.
As we continue building momentum together, here are a few important reminders:
📋 Student Handbook Acknowledgement Forms
If you have not already done so, please complete the Student Handbook Acknowledgement forms that were sent home with your child.
7th and 8th grade forms were sent home yesterday.
6th grade forms were sent home today.
Please take a few moments to read through the handbook information with your child before signing and returning the required forms. These documents outline important school expectations, policies, and procedures that will help us work together for a successful school year. If you have any questions or need clarification on any policy, please don't hesitate to contact me. Clear communication between home and school is one of the keys to making this our best year yet.
🚌 Here Comes the Bus
For families whose students ride the bus, be sure to download Here Comes the Bus.
This free app allows parents to track their child's school bus in real time from a computer, tablet, or smartphone, giving you peace of mind before and after school each day.
To register you will need the following information:
School Code: 29908
Student number: this is a 6 digit code, your student also uses this number for their lunch number and the first portion of their email.
📵 WE SEE IT; WE TAKE IT.
As a reminder, cell phones and electronic devices(including smart watches, Meta-style glasses, wireless earbuds, headphones, etc.) are not permitted for student use during the school day.
These devices should remain inside students' bookbags at all times. The only exception is for students with documented medical needs.
Our expectation is simple: We See It; We Take It.
If a device is visible or being used during the school day:
It will be confiscated.
It will be taken to the front office for parent pickup.
Additional disciplinary consequences will increase with each offense.
Please review the cell phone policy that was sent home with your child and help us reinforce these expectations.
⏰ Arrive On Time
Students who are car riders or walkers may enter the building beginning at 7:15 AM.
Our instructional day begins promptly at 7:45 AM.
Please help us by ensuring your child arrives early enough to be in class and ready to learn by 7:45 each morning.
Starting the day on time sets the tone for learning and success.
📈 Attendance Matters!
This year, we are placing a strong emphasis on attendance and punctuality because every minute of instruction matters.
When students miss school or arrive late:
They miss valuable instruction that cannot always be recreated.
They fall behind on assignments and classroom discussions.
They lose opportunities to build relationships and routines.
Habitual tardiness and excessive absences will result in school interventions and consequences as outlined in the FVMS Attendance Policy that was sent home in your child's beginning-of-the-year packet.
Be Here. Be On Time. Be Ready to Learn. Together, we can build strong attendance habits that lead to strong academic success.
🚗 Car Rider Line
For families using the car rider line, please remember that arrival and dismissal may take a little longer during the first few days of school.
We appreciate your patience with our staff and fellow parents as everyone settles into the routine.
To help us move traffic more efficiently:
Pull your vehicle all the way forward to the sign or to the staff member directing traffic (shout out to Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Richardson!)
Leave as little space as possible between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
These small adjustments help keep traffic moving and reduce wait times for everyone.
🏈 Football
Any student interested in playing football should see Coach Jackson as soon as possible.
Students must have a current physical on file before they are permitted to participate.
🥎 Softball
Softball season is here!
Any young lady interested in playing softball should see Coach Mangrum as soon as possible. Each girl must have a current physical on file before trying out.
🍫 Snack Sales Begin Monday!
Beginning Monday, snack sales will be available during each grade level's break throughout the school year.
Items will be priced at $1, $2, or $3.
Please send cash with your student if you would like them to participate.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. The first two days have reminded me just how special the FVMS community truly is. Together, we'll continue building momentum, celebrating successes, and creating an incredible school year for every student. Let's keep the dominoes falling in the right direction because momentum isn't built in one big moment; it's built through small, consistent actions every single day.
Thank you for allowing us to partner with you in your child's education.
One Team. One Dream. Growing Together.
