Hello FVMS Families,
I hope you and your student(s) are doing well. We have just nine instructional days left in the semester, and this stretch is critical. The first semester sets the academic foundation for January—strong grades now create a smoother, less stressful second semester.
📚 Academic Progress and Grade Improvement Opportunities
Over the next nine days, teachers will be:
• Providing make-up assignments
• Allowing students to retest on failing work
• Accepting missing assignments
• Supporting students who want to improve their grades
Please encourage your student to take full advantage of these opportunities. Our target is for every student to finish the semester with an 80 or higher.
If your child is failing or borderline failing, teachers will reach out. If you have concerns and have not heard from them, please contact your child’s teacher today!
Together, we can ensure students enter second semester passing and prepared as standards increase.
📝🎓 Final Exams – December 18–19
Final Exams are mandatory and count for 20% of the semester grade. Exams cover all standards taught this semester.
Students will:
• Receive a study guide for each class by December 15
• Complete study guides in class or independently
• Review answers and explanations with their teachers
Please ensure your student studies and is present on exam days.
Missed exams on Dec. 18–19 must be made up on January 5 at 8:00 a.m.
This applies to students suspended home or leaving early for travel. Missing a final may result in a student failing for the semester.
